Description: ArtStor is an image database featuring a range of images from some of the world’s leading museums, photo archives, scholars, and artists. It has more than two million images from 280 collections that can support many topics including Archaeology, Architecture, Art History, Design, Fashion & Costume, , Literature, Religion, Theatre, World History, and much more. The image library is constantly growing with new collections added monthly, continually expanding areas of reference and study.

Access Information: To access ArtStor off campus: click on LOG IN from the ArtStor home page, Select ‘Log in through your institution’. Description: Britannica Image Quest is a searchable database of digital images that allows access to more than two million images that are rights-cleared for educational use. The images are from over 50 of the best collections in the world, including: Action Plus for sports; Photo Researchers; akg-images; Getty Images; and Photoshot.

British Cartoon Archive

Description: The British Cartoon Archive is located at the Templeman Library, University of Kent, Canterbury. The collection dates back to 1904 and holds the artwork for over 150,000 British editorial, socio-political, and pocket cartoons, supported by large collections of comic strips, newspaper cuttings, books and magazines.

Google Arts & Culture

Description: Google Arts & Culture is a partnership between Google and 17 art museums around the world to place high resolution images online for you to explore. You can navigate the collections in a similar way to Google Street View. Each work of art includes viewing notes,information about the artist, and links to more images by the artist across the museum collections. In addition the website allows you to create your own collection of images selected from any of the museums and to share this using email or social networking sites.

John Johnson Collection

Description: A wonderfull collection of over 65,000 colour images from the Bodleian Library’s John Johnson Collection of Printed Ephemera, offering unique insights into the changing nature of everyday life in the eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Made freely available in the UK via the JISC Digitisation Programme in partnership with the Bodleian Library and Proquest.

Description: MediaPlus is a resource of Jisc-licensed news, film, image and music content including high profile collections such as ITN, Getty images and Wellcome Library images and sound,  hosted and delivered by Alexander Street. MediaPlus also contains instructional videos from Teachers’ TV.

Description: The NEN Gallery is a community resource, built and maintained by the education community for the education community.
